It’s September and that means time for all things fall. I’m super stoked, you guys. I can’t believe there was a time in my life when I wanted to live in a tropical climate. This time of year is so beautiful and so much fun.
I usually try to take advantage of the season, but I want to really make an effort this year. Here’s a few things that will inspire me to get out there this fall and I hope they do the same for you!
1. Watch the leaves change
I do this every year, but recently I found a list on Romantic Asheville that tells the places to visit based on the time of year! I’m sure it won’t be perfect, but I’m hoping to at least take a drive on the Blue Ridge once a week. I want to watch the beautiful, gradual change.
2. Enjoy local produce
Last year, Elliot and I had so much fun going apple picking. I definitely want to do that again this year! As I mentioned in my last blog post, I also want to take advantage of our beautiful farmer’s market and try all the new fruits and veggies in season.
3. Explore my own city
I want to spend a little time finding new places: restaurants, hikes, bars, shops. There’s often festivals and events downtown that I actually want to discover and this is the perfect time of year.
4. Spend quality time with friends
This should really be my number one. Too often I wait until a big event to catch up with an old friend. I’m determined to make an effort and see my friends whenever I can. Even if just for a cup of coffee or for a drink, it will make all the difference.
5. Do all things Halloween
Finally, I LOVE Halloween. I want to do everything spooky leading up to Halloween. I want to watch tons of scary movies, including ones I haven’t seen before. I want to meet up with fellow Halloween lovers and go on a spooky tour downtown. I’m also thinking we’re going to have another Halloween party this year since it was a hit. I can’t even contain my excitement!
