February has always been a busy month in my family. First it’s my mom’s birthday, then Valentine’s day, and then today is my birthday! It’s a crazy time for us, but always a lot of fun.
I’m 25 today which is both crazy and not at the same time. Being in my 20s has been a wild and amazing experience and I can’t wait to see what the next few years hold.
While visiting my mom this weekend to celebrate, I knew I would have some down time. So I decided to make a little to do list for Saturday. It was filled with things to get done for work and also some goals for my blog. As I began to work on my blog, I started to have some realizations. I’m not sure if it had to do with being in a new setting, away from it all, or what, but being at my mom’s house really helped me realize some things. So, I thought I’d share them with you today.
1. I want to make my blog great.
I love my blog. I really do. But it just hasn’t been meeting my standards yet. Teaching is always so hectic (as is life) and I feel like I never have the time, patience, or energy to put the work into this blog that I’ve wanted to.
2. It’s time to start making some changes.
As I came to this realization, I started to see what I need to do to make my blog as I’ve always envisioned it. I have all these ideas in my head that I want to share, but I just don’t take enough time to write down all my ideas and organize them into upcoming blog posts. Unfortunately that leaves me left with posts I write last minute and aren’t as good as I’ve intended.
3. I need to read more blogs.
I really do enjoy blogging and sharing my ideas. But I think part of my problem is that I don’t read enough blogs myself! I always do when I’m looking for a certain recipe or some inspiration somewhere, but I don’t take the time to read any blogs religiously. How can I make my blog better if I don’t learn from other successful bloggers?
I think part of the problem is that I don’t want to get tons of notifications in my emails from blogs I love. I never end up reading them and it just becomes annoying. So, I signed up for Bloglovin today! Have you guys heard of this? It’s like a Pinterest board for the blogs you follow. I began to follow tons of blogs and I even linked my own blog to make it easy to follow! Check it out by clicking this link >> Follow my blog with Bloglovin
4. Remember why I started
I get so caught up in things sometimes that I forget why I began blogging in the first place! I love sharing tips and ideas with people. I love helping and inspiring others. That’s why I need to make sure I’m organized in how I share my content so I can do what I originally set out to do.
