Here it is. The thing we say at the end of each year like it’s a requirement:
Can you believe 2018 is already over? Crazy, right?
Yet again, it’s here. The inevitable. And if you’re like me, you are so ready for a fresh start. Ready to set new goals and make changes.
But before we dive into all of that, I wanted to take a minute and reflect on this past year. We have this habit of listing all the things we didn’t get to or finding new things we want to accomplish, but I think it’s so important to take a look back at all the incredible things we’ve done. All the places visited, people we’ve spent time with, new habits we picked up, and little things we tried.
So, here is my last year. Not just the big events, but the little things too. Because, really aren’t all the little things what makes up our life?
I started the year off with yoga every day
I worked hard to create a living room I love
I continued to have a blast with my class, including on the 100th day
We found our sweet Mylo after 4 months of him missing!! (Right before my birthday)
I had one of the best birthdays of my life (and theme parties) with people I love
I won TEACHER OF THE YEAR and couldn’t stop smiling
I watched Elliot rock his job as a mailman and spent Spring Break with him
I watched dear friends tie the knot at the beach (and saw my best friend from high school get engaged a week later!!)
I celebrated the start of warm weather with a new festival: Shaky Knees
I had my voice heard in Raleigh
I lost my phone at Bonnaroo
I celebrated the life of my incredible Grandmother
I had the most life-changing experience in Thailand
I celebrated one year with the Sad Girls
I started my fifth year teaching with my amazing team
I cast my vote
I celebrated 7 years with my love
I had best friends visit for Halloween
I kept the tradition alive and visited friends in NYC
I had the best Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving ever
I got inspired by a badass author
I spent the holidays surrounded by love
Not to mention…
I started eating mostly vegan,
Began to make more sustainable choices and reduce my plastic,
Made some new friends (near and far),
Explored my beautiful home,
And picked up some new habits
This year has been full of GROWTH! I am so thankful for all the amazing people in my life and the incredible experiences I have had.
Looking to the year ahead with a full heart and excitement.
